From Casazza to Washington: Pietro Trapletti at the White House for Columbus Day

On October 12, 2026, BergamoNews devoted an article to Pietro Trapletti, President of the Balsamo Group, invited by President Donald Trump to the Columbus Day celebrations at the White House.

The event took place in Washington on Friday, October 9, ahead of the national holiday honoring Christopher Columbus and the contribution of Italian Americans to the history of the United States.

"An honor I will always carry with me," says Pietro Trapletti, recalling what it meant to walk through the halls where world history was written. Among the most powerful moments was the memory of Columbus and his ninety men, who chose to sail on where anyone else would have turned back. Trapletti sees that same courage, vision and determination in Italians around the world, and in the Group's own journey.

It was a moment of deep pride in Italian roots for a group founded around thirty years ago in Casazza as a small chauffeured car service, and today an international high-end mobility network with offices in Rome, Paris and New York.
